Dior Style Sunglasses - Where to Buy

Trying to set fashion trends can be so hard these days with the ball always rolling, it can be difficult to keep up, however Dior seems to be on a bit of a roll at the moment. Their amazing and luxurious "So Real" sunglasses have been seen on the likes of Emma Watson, Kendall Jenner and Olivia Palermo. If one pair of sunglasses could be crowned, this would be them. But with a price tag of £370 for a trendy pair of sunglasses that will probably be so last season a couple of months from now, Id rather purchase my trendy pair (as pictured above and below) for less than £10!

This particular style is called Clubmaster Cat Eye sunglasses. They were originally purchased on Instagram from a seller called 'Zpail' but I also found these bad boys on Ebay, so I thought I would share the link with you guys- since summer should be round the corner.

For the month of may, I have drafted out an obsession. I have an obsession with the colour nude. I find its the brighter days that tempt me to the lighter shades in my wardrobe. It is a colour that goes with absolutely everything - plus it gets my White Louis Vuitton monogram handbag out of the box.

I find it is always essential to have a trench coat in your wardrobe when you live in London, as the weather can be so unpredictable. I love this trench as it is light but keeps you warm, I can fold it up and it fits in my handbag and the colour is so neutral - its amazing! I especially love the detailing on the collar and lapelles.

Sun Kissed Hair - On a Budget!

HEY GIRLS! This is just a quick post about this fabulous product I just need to rant and rave about. If you don't want the expense or hassle of going to get highlights at the hairdressers, then this product is for you. L'Oreal Casting Sunkiss Jelly Priced at only £5.99 from Boots. Use this throughout the day time and gradually watch your hair lighten. 

This was my must have product for last summer, and it looks like its made it back out the draw again for this year. This product is a translucent gel form, which works as a lightener in the sun, you can strip it through your hair like highlights or dollop it on your ends for an ombre look. Either way this product is definitely a blessing. This product comes in different shades similar to a hair dye, so even if your hair is the darkest brown like mine - it will still work! All this and no Ammonia!

This is also perfect for girls who have blonde or lighter hair already and want to lighten it up for summer. It works alongside the sun or any natural light. So see your head as a solar panel once you apply this, your main goal is sun sun sun!

EOS Lipbalms

EOS Lipbalms are absolutely everywhere and anywhere nowadays. These little spheres of lip balm are so compact and come in an arrangement of flavours - yes i said flavours! The brand Evolution of Smooth has been around since 2009, but has only recently come to light the last couple of years due to celebrity endorsements. I bought these earlier this year in Florida, so managed to get these for $3 each! But your lucks in too as these are stocked in Boots or Urban Outfitters for £6.50.

These have become my new handy lip balms, being able to swap between the three and choose a flavour depending on my mood for the day is great. I particularly love the summer fruits - really tastes like strawberry on your lips. It smoothes on clear and you can really feel the shea butter. The container itself has little ridges so it makes it extremely easy to hold and precisely glides on your lips.

Kylie Lip Kit's Newest Shade (unnamed tba)

As wonderful as all of this sounds, Kylie Jenner, has been under immense scrutiny over her products. There have been many speculations regarding the manufacturing of the product, its ingredients and the overall branding. Comparing Kylie Lip Kit to another leading beauty range who dwells in the ultra matte liquid lipsticks, Colourpop produces the same line of lipsticks. Looking closer at both products, the ingredients are, if not the same, extremely close in content. It is also known that both Kylie Lip Kit and Colourpop Cosmetics are owned by the same parent company.

Technically, when it comes to celebrity endorsed products, you are simply paying for the name. Factories tend to have products already made up ready to be rebranded for the mass production that celebrities fanbases entail. Colourpop cosmetics Ultra Matte Liquid Lipsticks are a fraction of the price for the same lipgloss density and construction.

If you haven't been able to get your hands on one of the coveted Kylie Lip Kits because they sell out faster than your fingers can type in your credit card number, here's a similar product to get your fix for a fraction of the price. Below is a chart of the ingredients with a colour coded key to show how similar kylie lip kit and colour pop really are;

If this still doesn't sway you, up until most recently, many Kylie Lip Kit buyers have been receiving their items empty due to theft along the way. Deliveries of the Kylie Lip Kits are apparently being stolen along the postal network. The Better Business Bureau say that they are unable to define whether they are being removed in transit or on people's doorsteps. However, one thing that seems to make these thefts easier is the 'highly recognisable' packaging. A black and white box featuring the distinctive lips logo which are unmistakably Kylie's. Luckily, Kylie's team are working on a way to design a little less obvious to deter any future thefts.

Lush-cious Lips

Sweeten your lips with a touch of Candy. 

You've guessed it- I'm on about Lush. This is one shop you can really smell a mile off. It's one of my favourite stores specialising in bath bombs, soaps and other scented wonders.

Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub RRP £5.50 25g

The product (as pictured above and below) is a lip scrub. Its not just any old lip scrub - its edible! Lush's lip scrubs are available in a number of flavours such as mint or popcorn, but bubblegum is by far the tastiest. It is extremely easy to use, it preps your lips with a buff and polish to ensure your lipstick glides on and stays put. Apply with a clean finger, and let the exfoliating caster sugar and jojoba oil scrub away all the dead skin cells and infused moisture back into your smile. It doesn't leave a greasy or oily residue, just an extremely lovely sweet taste you'll enjoy licking.

Isle of Honey

Ilha do Mel - Memo Paris

How tempting does holidaying on a remote tropic island sound? If a trip to a hidden paradise isn't on your itinerary, I have something just as tempting. Memo have launched their second fragrance in the Graines Vagabondes series.

Ilha do Mel translates to Isle of Honey/Honey island. Developed by Perfumer Aliénor Massenet, its sweet smell stays true to origin, it's Brazillian signature oil of mandarin delivers a bright yet richly sweet aroma.

"A moon of juniper and vanilla deeply intertwined. A wave of broom flower smells"

Ilha do Mel is a Brazillian Island of the south coast. It's ecological preserve means there are no means of transport or any structures built in place - it is untouched land by modern man.

"Hidden bliss; sheltered under the pink and Hyacinth arches of the Encantada grottos"

This fragrance retails at £175 for 75ml and has a 10-12 hour longevity. I managed to get my hands on a sample of this divine scent. It is very reminiscent of the tropics and has a deep smell of indigenous flower. With the first spray notes of Tangerine followed by Orange Blossom and Honey Topped with Vanilla Musk - "lonesome without Iris,  I long for your tropics"

Rose Gold Face

After holidaying in Florida last Easter, I decided to buy a haul of Mac products to re-vamp my makeup bag. I've always used mac for their lipsticks and bronzers but was always curious about the other products they had to offer.

My current makeup bag consists of;

Mac Foundation - Studio Fix Fluid NW15.
-this is a full coverage foundation which I found was great to cover my pores and acne scars.  The NW on the colour shade stands for Neutral Warm - this is what the mac store shop assistant tested my skin to be and therefore an appropriate match was considered. Below is a colour/shade chart to explain this in more detail.

Mac Concealer - Pro Longwear NW15.
-this has a lighter density in comparison to the foundation. This is great for contouring light parts of your face. I also found this to be amazing with covering spots or any blemishes I have.

The chart below was created by MAC to help you understand the wide array of foundation shades that they offer. Each shade’s name is a combination of letters followed by numbers For example, NC 35 or NW 15. The number represents the shades range from 15 (very pale) to 55 (very dark). The letters C, NC, N, NW or W distinguish between different skin tones.

Here is a breakdown of MAC’s foundation codes:

The number that follows the letter(s) denotes the depth of the shade. The higher the number, the deeper the colour. This is why it is advised to get a colour match when choosing high end products as everyone's skin is made up differently.

                             

Mac Mascara - Haute and Naughty Too Black Lash -I previously owned haute and naughty black Lash and decided to purchase this one as it states it is "too black" - therefore darker and thicker. After using this product I noticed it made my lashes a lot thicker in comparison to my other mac mascara. Another reason why I really like this Mascara is that it has one brush but two different thickness' of Mascara you can choose from. If you unscrew the top part it unfolds a brush with a light layer of Mascara on for a more natural look. The second part is unscrewed to reveal the same brush but with a lot more of the Mascara contents on the brush hence your eyelashes appear thicker and longer.

Mac Bronzer - Mineralize Skinfinish Shade: Medium Deep - I already owned this product so re-bought it. It's typically used as a foundation powder for your face. However I bought 4 shades darker to be used as a bronzer/blusher. I've never been one to use shades of rose Pink on my cheeks, I've always chosen dark orange based shades. This product is an amazing two in one for me where it can be used as a Bronzer and a blusher.

Mac Highlighter - Mineralize Skinfinish Shade: Soft and Gentle - this is the first ever Highlighter I have ever bought and it definitely hasn't been the last. I have become obsessed with the gold glitz glam. I only tend to use this product on special occasions or days I fancy sprucing up. I place it in all the spots I want to highlight; below the arch of my eyebrow and on my cheekbones. Sometimes I even put a dab on the inside part of my eye, really makes them pop!

Mac Brow Gel - Fluidline Brow Gel Creme Shade: True Brunette - I have used other eyebrow gel pots before, but since the rest of my makeup bag was consisting of Mac -why not? This product comes in a small pot and doesn't come with a brush or anything. I purchased my own brush - of course from mac! It's an angled brush (mac208) but any angled brush would do. This is an amazing product where a little bit really does go a long way.

Mac Primer - Prep and Prime Fix+ Spray - I have always used primers under my foundation however they have always been a gel form. Mac Primer comes in a spray bottle and liquid form. After my normal washing face routine (which you can find a blog post about under beauty regime) I put cream on my face to moisturise and then put the Primer on. I only need three sprays max and my face feels tingly and fresh. It doesn't leave your skin oily or hard. It sinks into your skin leaving you feeling rejuvenated. I have found that since using this my skin appears a lot better. It doesn't look as dull.

Mac Pore Treatment - Prep and Prime Skin Refined Zone Treatment - this is an item I use less regularly than the Primer spray. This is great for my pores. You really see them minimalise. I also like the way this feels on my skin. It tightens the skin so makes it feel firmer and taught.

Having bad acne for several years, I could never get the grasp on how much dirt there could be on my face considering I wash my face so regularly. After purchasing several Mac Makeup brushes I realised after several uses my skin was getting clearer and clearer. I also found that by using my fingers to apply my foundation I must have been putting thousands of germs on my face without even realising.

These are all black handled brushes with White bristles with darker tinted tops. I also purchased the Mac Brush Cleaner. I found this to be an amazing product. Whilst cleaning my brushes, you realise how much product cleans off it and without a poignant smell. It's definitely a must buy!

Every Day Face

Beauty Regime

For my own personal facial beauty regime I use Clinique's 4 Piece Set which consists of; A liquid facial soap (mild), a Clarifying toner Lotion,  a Dramatically Different moisturising lotion+ and Moisture surge intense Creme in Type 2 Dry/Combination Skin.

I have been using these products for over a year now and I have noticed my skin looks a lot brighter and fresher. I always receive comments about how radiant my skin looks. I have also suffered from bad acne in the past so I found the type 2 dry/combination skin care pack especially good because it dealt with the oily t-zone area as well as patches that may get dry like my outer cheeks.

Here is how my routine plans out;

Step 1: I splash my face my luke warm water a few times to ensure if not all then most pores are open. Then I apply Clinique Liquid Facial Soap which is a mild soap in light green liquid form which feels extremely soft on the skin and lathers up. Then I rinse this off with luke warm water consistently to ensure all soap is off. Finally, I pat my face gently with a towel.

Step 2: As I bought a set from Clinique, inside the set were a few of Clinique's specially designed cotton pads to apply the toner to. However you can use any cotton pads. Applying Clinique's Clarifying toner Lotion to the cotton pads must be carefully placed as you don't want too much product - and you don't want to waste it either! I brush the cotton pad across my face with the toner specifically focusing in and around the nose area where blackheads live. You will be amazed what you take off on your cotton pads. Repeat this a few times, with a  different and clean pad each time. The pad will usually run clean once everything is away from your face.

Step 3: Your face will now feel tingly from the toner. Your face feels cold yet fresh. Then I apply a walnut sized amount of Clinique's Dramatically different moisturising lotion+ and apply it all over my face. The cream sets in really nicely with a light firm hold but not hard or dry feeling. My skin feels nourished and soft.

Step 4: This step is only necessary if you have dry patches or areas on your face that need a little extra attention. This is where Clinique's moisture surge intense Creme comes in. This is a bonus to the cream you already have in this pack. It's a gel Creme so 50/50 combination of gel and Creme.  It works as an intense Creme to focus on areas that could appear dry when you apply your foundation.
